The Middletown Symphonic Band of Middletown, CT, USA has been providing Connecticut residents and visitors with an excellent variety of music since 1979. Middletown native, music educator, and violinist Santo Fragilio founded the Middletown Symphonic Band, which he directed for many years.
MSB has an extensive repertoire: classical and semi-classical pieces, Broadway, jazz, marches, holiday favorites and traditional concert band music. MSB performs at summer park concerts, town fairs, celebrations, and other festive occasions. Our annual winter holiday concerts, July 4th Fireworks Concert, Essex Summer Concert, Mystic CT Concert, East Hartford’s Riverfront Recapture Concert, Wadsworth Open Air Market Concert, and Labor Day concerts are perennial favorites with our loyal Middletown and Connnecticut audiences.
Influenced by the tradition of Santo’s leadership, the ensemble is committed to the preservation of live concert band music. The band was established to give both professional and amateur musicians an opportunity to practice and perform together. MSB is also committed to helping youth music programs by providing education and opportunities for young musicians to further their skills.
